Administrative Assistant:
As an administrative assistant for Cowichan Brain Injury Society (CBIS), you will be responsible for accounting and multimedia services. CBIS is an organization that is committed to the rehabilitation, education, and advocacy of brain injuries in the Cowichan area.

Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day entry and posting in Sage 50 and supporting the CBIS team. They will also support marketing efforts to develop and update multimedia for CBIS programs, services, and events. In summary, they will coordinate the CBIS website, client database, and financial database.

Position Details:
Job Status: 32 hours per week
Location: Duncan, BC

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage monthly customer invoicing and interface with our non-profit database:
    • Manage approvals and posting accounts’ payable invoices in Sage 50
    • Utilize Apricot software to develop reports and statistics
    • Sort and file paid invoices and related documents
    • Manage credit card statements and customer invoicing
    • Communicate with customers and other employees
  • Develop social media and manage the CBIS website:
    • Update calendars, blogs, or other parts of the website
    • Post recent events or changes in social media

Job Requirements:
  • Complete literacy, proficient with office suite, database management, Internet and email
  • Confidence with social media tools and Weebly website maintenance
  • Experience with Sage 50
  • Experience with software design programs such as InDesign, Canva, etc.
  • Experience with case management software like Penelope and Apricot would be an asset
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and complete work independently and effectively
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, and to work deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with accounting
  • Valid driver’s license (minimum N required)
  • Clear current criminal record check
  • Valid current First Aid certificate or willingness to acquire one
  • Experience with brain injury is an asset
